Born Under A Wandering Star

In the musical Paint your wagon there is a song sung by Lee Marvin called Born Under A Wandering Star.

I was born under a wandering star
I was born under a wnadering star
Wheels are made for rolling, mules are made to pack
I've never seen a sight that didn't look better looking back
I was born under a wondrin; star

Mud can make you prisoner and the plains can bake you dry
Snow can burn your eyes, but only people make you cry
Home is made for coming from, for dreams of going to
Which with any luck will never come true
I was born under a wanderin' star
I was born under a wanderin' star

Do I know where hell is, hell is in hello
Heaven is goodbye forever, its time for me to go
I was born under a wanderin' star
I was born under a wanderin' star

When I get to heaven, tie to a tree
For I'll begin to roam and soon you'll know where I'll be
I was born under a wanderin' star
A wandrin' wandrin' star

The story goes Lee Marving couldn't sing to save his butt and had at best three or four notes in
his voice so the song only has those notes he could, sort of, sing. From my memory it was a hit song for a while anyway.

The reason I bring this up is that I have that wanderin' feeling again. I just can't abide staying in one place for long. I have to have an exit plan. I don't know what I am running from or running to; I am always on the move, packing, unpacking, planing, thinking about where to go next.

I am ready to break camp, pack the wagon, hitch up the horse and head over the hill to the next camp. Just the thought of moving on gives me peace. I should have been a Gypsy Queen except I dance funny, although I like the earings and skirts :-)

Bon voyage, wherever you´re headed. I´m still surprised you sold that farm in Kentucky.

I have been on the run since I was a child my parents moved every other year or so. I guess I get that hemmed in feeling and just got to move, even if it is in the same town. Just gotta move ......

Perhaps a shrink could settle you down, give you roots.

Roots are for trees and sometimes boiling and eating. I would have to find a mobile shrink and if there was such a person he/she would have the same issues as me :D
I'll save my money for toll fees and fuel....

LOL....I love it...shrinks, at our age, is what happens when you put a wool sweater in hot water and then the dryer...not very successful and you have lost a good sweater.

You have what is called Hitch Itch...Hitch up that wagon...there are lots of wanderers in the world and many of them are in RVs.

Did you wander off? I keep looking to see what is new, but just see the pretty wagon. I find that when I am busy living life, I don't blog. I hope that is what is happening with you.

Theresa

Headed back to Texas to look for an RV now should leave monday am and be there by friday or maybe saturday. I have one RV up for sale a 33' fifth wheel, to big and bulky to get in those little spots where the trees grow close together. The Gypsy wagon was about the right size and the Shepard's wagon was good also.

Any how, I'm a look'n ;)
